Under the aegis of Suncrest Publications, Jim Smith has published four books.  

That Shape A Nation is a supplemental textbook for high school students in U.S. history and government classes. The book has been endorsed by teachers and educators throughout the United States, including two Pulitzer Prize-winning historians.

Catherine's Son is a fictionalized account of the life of Henry McCarty, telling the [possibly] true story of his life during the years before he became known as the notorious outlaw Billy the Kid. Catherine's Son was recognized as a Finalist for the 2013 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards in the category of Best Historical Fiction.

Skipper Hall is a first-person narrative of the life of Bryan "Skipper" Hall, a Methodist Minister in New Mexico for almost fifty years. Skipper Hall was born in 1896 and died in 1989, leaving behind several generations of church goers influenced by his humanitarianism and good will.

Flash Back provides baby boomers with over 300 conversation prompts designed to generate countless evenings of rich, engaging, and enjoyable conversation.
